The DeAtley Family Foundation was established in 2007 by Neil and Patricia DeAtley to support the communities they had been part of since childhood. They firmly believed that when individuals and organizations within a community are supported, the entire community grows stronger. The Foundation’s mission is to help individuals and organizations improve their lives and the lives of those around them, guided by the understanding that hardship, when met with support and opportunity, can lead to lasting strength.

Both Neil and Patricia knew firsthand the challenges many families face. Patricia grew up in a single-parent household at a time when that was uncommon. To help her mother make ends meet, she took on laundry work, babysitting, and various odd jobs. Neil and Patricia met in high school, fell in love, and married shortly after graduating. The early years of their marriage were especially difficult following the untimely passing of Neil’s father, Albert, at the age of 45. As a third-generation owner of DeAtley Crushing, Neil was driven by this loss to push forward, ultimately building a highly successful company. They were fortunate to have 4 children, 15 grandchildren and now many great-grandchildren.

Neil passed away in 2017, and Patricia followed in 2022. Together, they established the Foundation with three key areas of focus, including capital improvements to facilities that meet significant community needs, community grants to help local nonprofits fulfill the needs of the valley, and supporting education for the youth of the LC Valley. The DeAtley Family Foundation proudly supports numerous organizations throughout the LC Valley and beyond, working to strengthen communities through these core priorities.

Through their generosity, values, and vision, Neil and Patricia DeAtley have left behind a remarkable legacy—one that their family will carry forward for generations to come.
